Biography and Background:
After completing her degree in communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Lindsey perused an advanced degree in visual communications from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Lindsey's first foray into technology was as a junior account manager at Barracuda, where she spent many days on the road training and educating sales reps across the U.S. - a time that proved to be a valuable learning experience for both Lindsey and Barracuda channel partners. Over the next few years, her past event experience, organization, and creativity contributed to the successful rise of Lindsey's business accounts, and paved the way to develop the beginning stages of the successful team that she manages today.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
My role with Barracuda expanded again this year and now our team is responsible for industry events and trade shows in addition to program management for Barracuda's traditional North American channel. Events provide a great opportunity to connect with channel partners and we're really looking forward to building out our events program with the channel in mind. Additionally, we continue to make great strides with our overall communication path to the channel, reducing the noise, and providing a strategic focus aligned with the corporate objectives.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
One of the goals that will continue to be a focus in 2018, is that we continue to grow and develop Barracuda's partner base, specifically in the public cloud and MSP segment. Over the past two years we've increased the level of support for partners in these areas in terms of the solutions we offer for each, and the resources we provide in these areas through our revamped partner program. In addition, we're also working to increase the overall efficiency of our partner program, which includes improving partner communication, channel processes and lead development.
What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
Whenever Barracuda is honored with an award, especially in the channel - it means our efforts are paying off. We've been honored a number of times over the past year by some great publications including CRN, SC Magazine, ChannelPro-SMB, and Tech & Learning.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire any single woman who must be a mom and a dad. I know from my own experiences that balancing work and children, while trying to grow a career - can be one of the most challenging things anyone can do.
What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Find something you're good at, and find a way to turn that into your career. If that doesn't work quite the way you hoped, find a way to bring your strengths into your career.
If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I am always open to learning any new skill that will help our team become more efficient. Communication in the channel is more important now than ever, especially when you consider the amount of information partners are receiving from vendors. I am always looking for ways to improve communication within our team, but also in the way that we communicate to partners. I can't overstate the importance of effective communication.
What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
Books can be a great escape and are a great way to relax at the end of the day. I recently read one of Chelsea Handler's books and it was absolutely hilarious. She has a brilliant way of mixing humor into anecdotes about her life, and I really enjoyed picking up a book simply for the entertainment factor.
