Biography and Background:
Lisa Box serves as vice president of Strategic Alliances at WP Engine focused on business development and expanding the company's ecosystem of technology and agency partners. Lisa has an extensive background in partner program development, marketing and channel incentive design from her more than 15 years in the domain and hosting industry in sales and marketing leadership roles.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Lisa's been busy over the past year. In addition to building out her team with leading talent she launched the first ever WordPress Agency Partner Program. Lisa and team designed a program that answered one of the biggest opportunities for agencies today. How to capitalize on the opportunities around the technology that powers 30% of the web today WordPress, yet remains underserved by many agencies. From there the agency team developed a partner portal, created a go-to-market plan featuring content, case studies, communications as well as created an incentive program. Within less than 12 months, 1000+ agencies have joined the WP Engine Partner Program and that number grows daily. In addition to agency partners, Lisa also lead the creation and launch of the WP Engine Tech Partner Program featuring industry leaders Amazon, Google, Shopify, Marketo, Hubspot, New Relic and others. In a similar fashion, Lisa worked closely with the various tech partners to better understand their challenges in connecting with the WordPress community. From there, Lisa developed a program that helps empower the WP Engine tech partners to better engage the largest CMS base.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
As WP Engine continues to expand internationally to meet the growing demands of our customers, Lisa is focused on scaling the Partner Program globally and WP Engine recently surpassed 10,000 customers in EMEA and launched an office in Brisbane, Australia.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Heather has instilled the importance of core values and the role they should play as guiding principles. She's taught me that you can have a fantastic work culture, find work/life balance, all while growing at fantastic rates. And, she has shown me how leading with poise and grace wins every time.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Understand technology early. It will only help you learn more. Embrace imperfections more than perfections. Put yourself and family first.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I would master social media. There's so much power in it: branding, networking, sales, communications and more. I would like to redefine how to use it as a skill in my everyday.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
The Innovator's Dilemma, it is a reminder that we should constantly innovate and no situation or company is the same. We have to disrupt, which might be very painful for a market leader, in order to maintain a very high level of success.
