Biography and Background:
Kiran Kaloti is a dynamic marketing leader with over 13 years of experience in Channel Marketing. Kiran joined VMware in June 2008 and is a Senior Global Partner Marketing Manager, leading the overall marketing technology platform ecosystem to meet global partner marketing growth targets. She's held several roles at VMware including, budget management, creation of channel programs, and development of joint marketing plans for the top route-to-market Distributors and Corporate Resellers. Prior to VMware, Kiran spent two year at Mio Technologies leading the overall marketing strategy for their online store.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Last year, I partnered with channel sales to build and execute marketing plans aligned to business plans to support the channel business. A big focus this past year was tracking Marketing Sourced Pipeline. I built framework for tracking an integrated marketing campaign where I was able to track $86M in Marketing Sourced Pipeline.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
My goal is to expand building a technology platform to support the adoption of best practices of channel marketing planning, allocation of development funds, and tracking marketing attribution. In addition, I'm developing a closed-loop process for Marketing Development Funds and tracking leads generated through these marketing campaigns. I will continue to leverage business analytics, our repeatable engagement strategy and increased investment global programs to ensure our partners are in leading position to seize the extensive opportunity our VMware solutions provide.
What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
I won Marketing Innovator Award for the successful implementation of an integrated marketing campaign for an emerging product with VMware's largest Partner, achieving 138% of the $17M NSX revenue goal.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Orpah Winfrey, she embodies a sense of fun and generosity and always makes a point to acknowledge those that are doing good in this world. She uses her fame to inspire happiness and kindness in this world, and that is something I admire.
What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
My advice to young women aspiring to succeed is: 1. Maintain integrity and be true to yourself while reaching for personal and professional growth opportunities. 2. Be authentic and empathetic to others. 3. Network in search of guidance and mentoring.
If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I have a knack for crunching numbers and if I could master any new job-related skill, it would be to master Data Analytics. I believe understanding customer behaviors and tracking the performance of digital efforts is crucial in ensuring the success of any marketing campaigns.
What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
I enjoyed reading Quiet by Susan Cain. This is truly a highly motivational book that has given me a lot of amazing tips! It has also inspired me to embrace my inner introvert.
