Biography and Background:
Nidhi Nayyar Tassone has 14 years of experience in IT channel marketing, most recently as Acer's Group marketing manager for commercial marketing. Nayyar Tassone and her team are responsible for supporting marketing initiatives for all Acer U.S. reseller, DMR & Distribution partners, across multichannel traditional and digital platforms. She joined Acer in 2009 as Education Marketing Manager. In 2013, she was given additional responsibilities to manage all DMR channel marketing initiatives for the United States. Prior to joining Acer America, Nayyar Tassone held multiple roles at Proxim Wireless, supporting channel marketing. Nayyar Tassone holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
As a group marketing manager for Acer commercial marketing, I have personally been involved in multiple channel initiatives in 2017. We have seen 33 percent revenue growth with some of our DMR partners as a result of targeted marketing initiatives for them and in collaboration with them. Also, the launch of the enhanced Acer VAR programs has led to a 22 percent revenue increase and 40 percent membership growth. We also continue to maintain our market leadership position within education with our multiple thought leadership programs like the Acer K-12 Advisory Council, comprised of 15 CIOs from districts across the United States. We trust and value the expertise and suggestions from this group and solicit feedback on new product and service offerings specific to K-12.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
My goals are to add more qualified partners, improve partner profitability and increase the amount of net new accounts coming through partners.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
I was recognized by CRN as one of the 2017 Women of the Channel . The women on this list are selected based on achievements, impact and commitment to the industry.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire Ruth Bader Ginsburg, for her fearlessness, tenacity and not hesitating to share her opinion, even if it might not have been the preferred opinion of the time.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Take informed and educated risks when you have the opportunity. Don't fear failure - it is the opportunity to begin again with more experience.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I would pursue an MBA to support my goal of being a thought leader, driving change to improve products, people, and processes in a diverse and increasingly complex global business environment.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
I liked the Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes for its message on the power of positive outlook and being open to change, which helps us realize our own untapped potential. It was also a very humorous, easy read and relatable.
