Biography and Background:
Marji Lynn is an accomplished channel executive whose passion is growing revenue for the partners and service providers she represents. She has worked in telecommunications since 1999 at AT&T, Qwest, and CenturyLink, and joined Star2Star in 2017. With her emphasis on training and collaboration throughout the sales cycle, Marji helps her partners deliver Star2Star solutions to their customers while coordinating internal teams to ensure smooth implementation. She invests in the overall success of her partners' businesses, consulting with them on growth strategies and providing meaningful introductions. Her background also includes training, operations, and employee development. As President at Qwest Women Seattle, she provided educational and mentoring programs to support hundreds of employees in their career advancement. She also rolled out a trial sales initiative for technicians that was adopted nationally and became the CenturyLink YouCan Referral Program. Marji grew up on the East Coast, has an B.A. in Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Social Work. When she's not working you can find her chasing the perfect photograph, enjoying time with her family, or in her garden, racing the short northwest summer for a bumper crop of heirloom tomatoes.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
As a top performer in 2017 I grew Star2Star's sales and partner coverage in the Pacific Northwest, doubling the region's revenue from the prior year.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Star2Star's recent merger with Blueface Ltd. as well as ongoing product development promise an exciting year, with new and enhanced offerings. I'll continue to grow the business by taking our expanded portfolio to existing partners and motivating new prospects to work with us.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
In 2017 I won Star2Star Captains Club for sales achievement, and was the top female salesperson in the company. My performance resulted in being awarded additional territory and sales opportunities for 2018.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Two women come to mind: Jeanne Bartlett, Channel Manager at TBI, for her resilience and determination. Despite the trials of personal loss and single parenthood, Jeanne has built a thriving career and raised a smart, strong daughter. Tricia Ward, Intelisys' first million-dollar partner, for her focus on personal growth and commitment to the art of selling.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Visualize yourself in 5, 10, 20, 50 years. Where do you live, what are you doing, and who's in your circle? Trust your gut about what makes you happy and plan your journey. Learn all you can about money, markets, and investing.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
Learn new languages, such as Mandarin Chinese and German to support opportunities for global business.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
"Prickly Roses" by Joyce Abell. This memoir is a first book by a 92-year old author, with anecdotes about her unusual family history and childhood of neglect. Born in New York City, she was shipped to Albania at the age of five to live with her grandfather, the newly appointed ambassador. Adventures follow at every stage of her life. Aside from her compelling story, Joyce was my high school psychology teacher whom I credit for setting me on my professional path.
