Biography and Background:
Justine started her career as an engineer, trying out various junior marketing positions before she discovered her love for IT. She happened to meet two people from San Jose in a coffee shop and ended up joining them to help set up one of the first ISPs in the UK, growing the company to number two in the country. From there, Justine went on to manage a business development and sales group for a telco in the UK. After that, she joined some ex-colleagues in setting up two small triple play IP businesses, where she served as Chief Operational Officer until their eventual sale. She then took on various marketing leadership positions with Microsoft in the UK and latterly EMC, running RSA marketing for EMEA. Since 2013, she has lead Global Field and Channel Marketing for Sophos, based in the USA.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Justine's goal is to increase the number of Sophos' Synchronized Security accredited partners. Sophos is the only security vendor that maintains strength in both network and endpoint security, led by the tremendous growth of two of its most powerful products, Intercept X and XG Firewall. To leverage these strengths, Sophos launched its award-winning synchronized security strategy that integrates and automates endpoint and network protection to protect businesses against today's advanced threats. By growing the number of partners that get accredited for Synchronized Security, Justine enables more partners to grow their business by supplying truly smart IT security to their customers.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
Justine was named as a 2017 CRN Women of the Channel

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Justine admires Mary Berry, the British food writer, TV star and philanthropist - most people will know her through the 'Great British Bake Off' TV Show. There are an incredible number of women to admire out there in the world, and Justine picked her as she demonstrates every day that you can live a vital, fulfilled and generous life through to your eighties. She seems to have absolute determination and a fearless approach to living her life. Age has no bearing on that.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Justine's best advice would be not to worry! At 16 we were all mired in exams and stress worrying about University, and she would have loved to remind her younger self to work hard, do her best, and the rest will take care of itself. Very few things in life are a one-way ticket and most things can be fixed with energy, effort and openness.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
Justine originally trained as an engineer and would love to dust off her programming expertise one day. She now works in cybersecurity which has to be one of the fastest moving and dynamic industries and technology and innovation are keeping society one step ahead of the bad guys. She'd love to spend some time relearning those skills.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
The best book that Justine read this past year is Red Rising by Pierce Brown. It's a science fiction novel that's the best fiction book she has read in years. Justine doesn't often have time to read anything non-business related, but this was such a fabulous book, she finished it in one weekend, followed by the other two books in the trilogy. It's exciting and thought provoking, surprising and sad, and an overall great read.
