Biography and Background:
As Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Stacy West brings over 25 years of experience to her current role - leading and managing all aspects of SolarWinds MSP's marketing efforts. These include revenue marketing, product marketing, PR, customer engagement, loyalty and retention, and field marketing. Prior to joining SolarWinds MSP, Stacy was VP of Marketing & Communications at SciQuest, where she boosted year-over-year net new leads, increased lead conversions, and exceeded sales pipeline goals. Before that, she was a director of marketing at Canon Solutions America, where she dramatically reduced cost-per-lead, increased leads year over year, implemented and ran monthly marketing campaigns, and oversaw a highly successful Customer Experience Center. Additionally, Stacy has held high-level leadership positions at HCL Hewlett Packard, Interaction Publishers, Inc., Intelligent Strategies Intuitive Solutions, and LeasePartners.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
SolarWinds MSP continues to invest in the success of our MSP partners. One of the more visible ways we do this is through our recently revamped MSP Business Bootcamp and our annual Empower MSP events. In 2017, we held four Empower MSP events around the globe. Open to partners and prospects, these events are designed to provide attendees with a fresh set of ideas to accelerate business growth and development, as well as expand their skills and knowledge to better meet and anticipate the needs of their customers. With hundreds of MSPs in attendance, SolarWinds Empower MSP events are also a great venue to network with your peers, listen and learn from others, and further engage with other ecosystem providers and SolarWinds executives. Another key introduction in 2017 was SolarWinds MSP's robust GDPR resource center. Available on the SolarWinds MSP website,, this online resource helps our channel partners and their customers better understand the impact and call to action around GDPR. We are also in the process of setting up a SolarWinds MSP Security Resource Center. The more resources we can provide to our channel partners, the better.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
SolarWinds MSP's channel marketing team is focused on providing real business value to our MSP partners through continuous thought leadership content, timely online resources including our GDPR resource center, in-person events and training, as well as on-demand training and education, plus informative onboarding materials and bootcamps. Our goal is to speed the time to value for our MSP partners and enable them to scale success and deliver an exceptional customer experience. No matter where they are in the growth cycle, SolarWinds MSP has the technology, tools, training and talent to ensure they are as successful as they can be.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
In 2017, I was named to the CRN Women of the Channel list and continue to have the opportunity to serve as part of my local Executive Service Corps, which provides professional, affordable consulting to Triangle nonprofits to help them achieve their missions.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire our Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. In the face of so much criticism and adversity, she stayed positive and focused on bringing out the best in our communities, our youth, and across generations. She found her voice and continues to use it to bring positive change to our world.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Worry less about what people think, and be true to yourself.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
If I could master something that has to do with our industry, I would love to learn how to code. As a marketing professional, this knowledge would give me and my team a deeper understanding of the time to market for new technology and make it easier to set expectations and execute in conjunction with our company's roadmap.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
We Are Anonymous: Inside the Hacker World of LulzSec, Anonymous, and the Global Cyber Insurgency This expose takes a close look inside the hacker community. Given the state of IT security, it was interesting to learn how the group came to be and learn more about the global cyber insurgency movement and its impact.
