Biography and Background:
Lori Jolley is a technology, media and telecommunications industry veteran, with nearly 30 years in the field. She began her career at Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems in St. Louis, Missouri. Lori is now a director of strategic reach for the AT&T Partner Exchange™ organization. She is responsible for growth planning, analytics, recruiting, customer experience and coordinating communications within AT&T and to AT&T Partner Exchange solution providers. Throughout Lori's career, she has focused on developing AT&T's channel programs - internal and external, business and consumer - including process improvement, product training and value proposition development for profitable growth and exceptional customer delivery. Lori has also developed financial and sales strategies for national retailers, SBC call centers and wireless stores to sell wireless. Within AT&T Partner Exchange, she developed these strategies for solution providers reselling AT&T IP and mobility solutions. She also has experience in merger integration, alliance management and product development. Lori graduated from Missouri State University. She attended Webster University for her Masters and is the mother of two children, Chase and Brooke.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
In 2017, our team focused on accelerating new solution providers to sales readiness. We strengthened our primary touch points to ensure positive first impressions and partnered with new solutions providers with precision. It's far more than onboarding. It's more about the first experiences new solutions providers have with us in the program. That's when we lay the foundation for profitable, long-term growth. Our enablement program is designed for all, but also customizable, based on the uniqueness of each solution provider. We teach and share what's relevant for the solution provider, while supporting the solution provider's adoption of the self-service platform. Our enablement program is designed to embrace each new solution provider quickly. This way, they develop confidence in all the Partner Exchange benefits and self-service platform capabilities we have for them to profitably grow their businesses.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
This year, we're all about growth. We're unlocking new opportunities for solution providers through collaboration and communication with a customer-centric approach. We plan grow the channel, grow our partnerships, deliver best-in-class products with quality business operations, utilizing our people's skills and ability to transform business technology solutions.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
During 2017 I was recognized by CRNs Woman of the Channel for the third year. In the fall I was elected by my peers to Vice Chair of CompTIA's Advancing Women in Technology for 2018.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I was fortunate to hear Corey Lohrenz speak during the Cisco Empowered Women's event last summer. I was so inspired but her realness and determination. Corey is absolutely fearless about achieving her personal goals and creating change in the world. When she tells her story, she embraces the goodness of having obstacles in her life and the value of choosing to change for growth.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
I would tell my 16-year-old self to look up, around, inside and out to understand where you want to go and why you want to go there. Have a plan, but be open to adjusting because of experiences. Never stop learning. Define yourself on your own terms, be open to change, stay true to your beliefs and listen. Show compassion no matter the setting: personally or professionally.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I'd like to learn to some coding skills. Coding could help me develop new ways of thinking and foster different problem-solving techniques. I like the idea of creating a game or animation with coding.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
Turn the Ship Around by Captain L. David Marquet. What I most took from the book was a deeper belief in the power of the people and the team. The more we can drive decision-making authority down the chain of command, the more effective any team or organization can become. Clarifying a team's role in their organization's goal drives desired outcomes. Blind obedience extinguishes creativity and suppresses the contributions individuals can contribute to expand expectations and goals.
