Biography and Background:
I have been in the tech industry for over 20 years and founded Kaizen as the first 100% female minority owned Cloud Focused VAR in the Bay Area helping Fortune 500 Enterprise clients optimize, strategize, procure datacenters and cloud environments. Some of Kaizen's marquee clients are: SAP.com, AT&T, NASDAQ, PayPal, Bed Bath and Beyond. Kaizen launched "The Office of the Cloud" in 2016 with Storm Ventures to help clients share successes and failures in their cloud projects as well as help more women have careers in the cloud economy. Kaizen won #1 Cloud reseller in the Nation for Avnet technology in our first year of business. Previous to launching of Kaizen, I ran sales nationally and internationally at large corporations such as Symantec and Oracle. I was brought up in an environment of entrepreneurial parents who immigrated to the united states and this has positioned me well for success to take Kaizen to the next level. I am also a community activist, and mother of four, I love helping others achieve their dreams, promotes living everyday as if it was our last and foster an environment where everyone become an entrepreneur.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
I personally have grown the company to $8.4mil in sales from $0 using partners and distribution. I recently hired a channel manager to help give us more visibility and funding from our our current vendors .

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
We would like to see our sales leads come 75% from the channel instead of the 25% today. We want to get more involved in the channel community and help influence more women into the channel tech world at a faster rate then we have been doing and as well as empower them to go after their dream jobs. We hope to grow by 100% and 50% in profitablity and become known as one of the the leaders in pure channel cloud sales.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
#107 Fastest growing private companies by Inc. 5000 in 2017 -we won this aware bc we grew by over 3000% since 2013 • Ranked by SFBT as a top 100 women owned private company 2017- same as above • Silver winner of the Stevie Awards for Women in Business nationwide for companies under 10 in 2017- this was a panel of judges around world based on their criteria • Scholarship awardee for class of 2018 Harvard OPM 3-Year program- global growth capability and presentation on 4 questions • Ernst and Young-Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2017 Finalist

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
There are many wonderful women out there in the world that are great role models. If I can't say my mother who brought her kids to the USA on a boat as a refugee, I would have to say, Marsh Firestone. In 1997 Marsha founded the Women President's Education Organization ( WPO) to help more women meet and learn from each other on how to grow and build their own business to become financially independent and have a network of other women owners to talk to. It is the organization that helped me get my scholarship to Harvard.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Apply to the things you didn't think you can obtain. The only thing that kept me from applying to Harvard undergraduate school (I was the Youth Governor of MN) was the doubt in my head and concerns my parents couldn't afford it. Now as an adult you can clearly see that ALL is possible if you have passion, use your voice and are genuine with people to find ways to get experiences you want to enrich your life and to enrich other people's lives. Oh! Make sure you marry someone who has a great relationship with their mother! :)

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
I would like to master the Chinese spoken and written language. There is a huge population that is represented by the Chinese and being able to speak and do business there would be invaluable.. The Chinese companies are doing more M&A in the USA and have a major vote in the global consumer market. Not only that but once you learn chinese, learning french or others languages becomes much easier.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
I find the a book is good when you are always recommending others to read it. Neely Galan writes a great book called "Self Made" to help women who want to become empowered and Self Reliant and RICH in every way ( family, money, friends). Neely depicts visually the ideas she is trying to get across to the women readers that are easy to remember for examples she tells women to " buy buildings not shoes" if you want to become independent. I met her last year and have been sharing her book with many women I know and meet.
