Biography and Background:
Lisa has worked in the channel for over 10 years, six of which have been at GuidePoint Security. She started her career in public relations and marketing and entered the IT industry performing channel marketing for GTSI. During this time she continued her education, earning her MBA from the University of Florida. Following her tenure at GTSI, she worked at a software company until she joined GuidePoint in 2012. As one of the first employees, she performed many roles ranging from inside sales to running payroll. Currently, as Vice President of Operations, she manages all operations functions for the company and is increasing operational efficiency as the company experiences explosive growth each year.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Over the past year, I increased GuidePoint's channel business through building and expanding our distribution relationships. This includes leveraging additional services that distributors offer outside of their traditional pack and ship services, managing the financial aspects of those relationships, and educating internal and external stakeholders about the value of the channel.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
GuidePoint's vision is to become the premier cyber security solutions provider in North America. GuidePoint has expanded our footprint throughout the Central and Eastern regions of the United States. During 2018, GuidePoint aims to increase our geographic footprint as we expand West and into the Caribbean. We will continue to work with security vendors that are building solutions that address our customers' ever-changing security needs.

What honors, awards, or commendations have you won over the past year?
During the past year, I have participated in several advisory boards, as a customer, an advisor, and a partner. These positions enable me to provide feedback based on my experience in the industry and help mature the organizations involved. I was also recognized as one of CRN's 2017 Women of the Channel Power 30 Solution Providers.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
There is a huge movement taking place in our country right now and it is stemming from women being brave enough to tell their stores. Each story is different, but the courage these women are showing is admirable. I hope this movement continues to inspire other women and teaches our next generation to use their voices and chase their dreams.

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
You are the only one responsible for your success and happiness. Do not rely on anyone else to make you happy or successful. Chase your dreams. Talk to as many people as possible. Listen to their stories and experiences. Tell them your plans and how you intend to accomplish them. Be open to changing your plans as your life unfolds. Don't let failure discourage you. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.

If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
If I could master any new job-related skill it would be speaking multiple languages. As technology advances, our world is becoming smaller and being able to speak multiple languages would allow for us to enter new markets.

What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
"The Subtle Art..." by Mark Manson. It was a good reminder to invest my energy into things that really matter and make an impact on my life. It also stressed the importance of enjoying where you are in life instead of focusing on what's next.
