Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Billie Jean King is a woman I admire. Billie Jean stood up for all women who do not get equal pay for what they do. In 1973, she defeated chauvinist tennis player Bobby Riggs on the world stage and never faulted in her conviction and courage. Billie Jean's courage and grace changed the financial destiny for herself and all women athletes and those in other professions in the United States. In 1973, gender was still not part of the legislation for the Civil Rights Act, which was amended in 1974.
What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Love yourself first! Be true to yourself. No one else is living your lifeyou are. Do not compromise value and dreams for anyone else. Write down your goals, such as where you want to live, what activities do you want to do, how much money do you want to make and how do you plan to make it, what do you want to give back to the world and be remembered for when you are done. If you have a vision and ask for it, the universe will give you what you desire.
If you could master any new job-related skill, what would it be and why?
Taking a class on how to use Excel for financial modeling, forecasting and creating what if scenarios to better predict and manage my partnerships would be of great benefit for me. This would better enable me and my sales and marketing organization understand where our financial spend should be focused to drive the business.
What's the best book you read this past year and why did you like it?
"You are a BADASS - How to Stop Doubting your Greatness and Start Living and Awesome Life" by Jen Sincero". I love this book, because I have read many "self-help and get what you want in life" books, but Jen is able to use her own life experiences in a very humorous and relatable way. It creates focus on what is truly important in life. The book clearly lays out that it does not make sense to do anything that does not make you happy. I have given this book to all my good friends especially my women friends.
