Biography and Background:
I started my career in the software business in the 80s in marketing, channel marketing and retail sales. I spend some time at Ingram Micro in marketing and moved over to VARBusiness as their largest customer. I've been with The Channel Company in all its forms for 24 years and have worked in sales, marketing, Publisher of CRN and now run the Events and IPED divisions.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Channel IS our business, but i have been responsible for or involved in several product launches over the years.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Continue to find ways to help the vendors and partners connect and ultimately grow their sales as the market dramatically shifts to Cloud, IOT and aaS.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Sadly none this year
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Meg Whitman has done a terrific job of transforming HP in a very difficult time. I admire not only her ability to take risk and innovate, but she is approachable and engaged at every level of the business.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Network! There are so many opportunities, but the days of tenure at any one company are waning. you must always be improving, learning and looking at what else is out there because you may get bought tomorrow! We see so many companies downsizing and merging, but there is always a new company to fill in a gap. Don't be afraid to take a risk!
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Rey from StarWars because she is going to save the universe!
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Brisbane because i hear it's fabulous
