How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Looking back at the past year, there were four main goals to drive toward for our channel programs. All four of goals have had action and positive forward progress. 1. Through proactive partner engagement and increased demand generation activities, the VAR channel has contributed significant new pipeline in strategic solution area's. 2. In September we launched our new partner portal and channel program to improve our ease of doing business with our partners. We are receiving positive feedback from partners and working hard to ensure all partners are registered in the new program 3. In an effort to better prepare our partners to sell our expanded post acquisition solution set, we added 17 new certifications and enablement offerings for partners to become skilled on our solutions 4. As the Micro Focus TAG integration has progressed, we have remained stable in our coverage and improved our ability to support partners and field selling engagement. These 4 area's of advancement have helped position us for growth with our strategic partners going forward.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
The Micro Focus channel business will be very exciting over the next year. We have launched our new channel program as well as many channel focused products. We are investing in more demand generation activities to help partners drive revenue. We are also poised for more exponential growth with another potential acquisition later in the year. We will need to remain maniacally focused on delivering results while again preparing to integrate in to a single larger entity.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
The most meaningful award I received this year was the Coaches Award at Micro Focus. This is an award which is presented by the President of North America and represents acknowledgement of overall leadership and team work to drive result generating activities in the first year as a newly combined company.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
There are many women that I admire and who inspire me. I meet them every day as I go through life and learn small lessons that I can apply to my life. A specific woman that I've recently come to admire comes from a movie telling her story. Katherine Johnson, a NASA mathematician. Her story is one of grace, intelligence, knowing what is right and doing it in the face of adversity. She overcame many obstacles to persevere and didn't let the circumstances around her affect her efforts to reach the goals at hand.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
My advice to any young person wanting to begin a career in technology is to "go for it". If you like a fast moving, ever changing edge of technology environment, this is the career path. Innovation in technology continues to move fast with new fields such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality coming to the forefront. Lastly, Work hard, work smart, take some chances and be yourself.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
I've always admired Tinkerbell. She is an independent, strong minded individual. She has fantastic ingenuity and non verbal communication skills as well excellent rationing of pixie dust.... and who doesn't want to be able to fly?
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
If I could travel to a city I've never visited, I would choose Rome, Italy. With over 2500 years of history and one of the birthplaces of western civilization, the history, arts and innovations are educational and humbling.
