Biography and Background:
Adriana Scalora has 18 years of experience channel go-to-market, channel development, and partner marketing in emerging and Fortune 500 companies. She currently works as a Sr. Director for Worldwide Partner Success, Strategy and Operations ar Okta. Before working at Okta, she was leading Partner Programs and enablement globally at Pure Storage, where she was responsible for launching the Partner Program and Pure Storage products, joining a year before the IPO. Prior to joining Pure Storage, Adriana held global channel development roles at HDS, where she was responsible for the partner go-to-market and programs for the File, Content and Cloud division. She also founded her own channel consulting company in 2009, and was hired and retained by Level 3 Communications to lead their new VAR recruitment strategy. Her track record includes consulting for IBM, Sun Microsystems, Trend Micro, Nokia Enterprise Networks, and many other market leaders in the tech industry. Adriana speaks 4 languages and is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a post-graduate degree in Business and Management. She also studied at the City University of London, and attended leadership courses at MIT and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Adriana currently sits on the board of OneProsper, a non-profit that empowers women in less fortunate areas of the world.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
In the past year my key focus has been partner sales and marketing enablement with the ultimate goal of generating more joint opportunities.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
My goal is continuing to make our partner successful and grow their business through an enhanced partner enablement and go-to-market process, and the launch of a differentiated partner program. The ultimate goal is adding value to our joint customers and generating incremental sales opportunities.

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Received the CRN 5 Star Partner Program Guide recognition for designing and launching one of the best partner programs in the storage industry. The award rating recognized an elite subset of companies that offer the solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel program. Pure Storage CMO Channel Champion Award For going above beyond by launching the Pure Storage partner program, differentiating the program offerings with unique incentives for partner sales and pre-sales roles and launching the Cisco and Pure Storage joint solution.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Rita Levi-Montalcini, an Italian Nobel laureate, honored for her work in neurobiology. She embodies the value of persistence and did not let gender, ethnicity, setbacks, or criticism interfere with her achievements.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Be curious. Make learning and improving a lifelong journey and goal. Understand your company's business and closely align with sales, no matter your role. Take care of yourself, your own happiness and physical wellbeing.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Jane Goodall for her demeanor, brilliance, and bravery.

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I would go to a small third world country city to share my knowledge and help the local community live better. At the same time I would get quite a nice break from too much technology and noise and receive way more in return from that community.
