Biography and Background:
I've had the distinct pleasure of developing a twenty-five-year career working for or teaming with several large technology companies like Microsoft, HP, Oracle and most recently CA Technologies! The journey has been purposefully diverse, allowing me to combine my three passions: • Re-imagining partner ecosystems and programs that seamlessly integrate business needs between Partners and generates beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders; • A love for attacking white space by building innovative partnering business cases plus the tool sets and investment models to support them through convergence of data, stakeholder input and alignment of business goals; • An unwavering obsession with the Channel and all things Partner! With a notable track record in Partner Program Strategy & Design, Partner Marketing, and Partner Account Management, I have cultivated a personal brand for deep expertise in business model revitalization, partner negotiations, business development and partner marketing; a varied but synergistic skill set that's well-suited to building strategic relationships that accelerate revenue growth, increase exposure, and expand market reach through smart partnering environments.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Over the past eighteen months, CA Technologies has deeply focused on transitioning its approach to partnering, with an unwavering commitment to "Being Partner Driven" as the foundation of everything we do. In early 2016, I drove the re-design of CA's Global Partner Program, providing the programmatic framework that supported CA's evolving Partner engagement model. As the CA Partners (and CA's overall partnering effort) thrived throughout 2016, my design of the second phase of our Global Partner Program intensified, culminating in the launch of the CA Advantage Partner Program in April 2017. The CA Advantage Partner Program delivers significant impact and value to CA Partners. Based on listening sessions with 70+ partners, the program 's principles are rooted in 4 core themes: Simplicity, Protection, Profitability and Competitive Differentiation. The Program features partner-productive elements like increased profitability, partner choice of benefits, deal development protection, simple and consistent ROI views on every deal and in every quarter. CA already has such compelling solutions and opportunities for partners to leverage - the CA Advantage Partner Program will be an exciting new avenue to drive that mutual success with our Partners.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
First and foremost, continued focus on "Being Partner Driven!" As that commitment continues to develop and flourish in 2017, many of the other goals subsequently drive themselves; including delivering world-class solutions and services to our mutual customers. Related, we'll be putting significant effort and attention toward helping our Partners transition into the new program and prosper. Finally, we'll be working on delivering a dynamic new MSP Partner Program, just in time for CA World in November 2017.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
In May of 2016, I was honored to be recognized by CRN in their annual "Women of the Channel" issue for my work in designing CA's Global Partner Program for 2016. In May of 2017, the newly designed CA Advantage Partner Program is being recognized with CRN's prestigious "5 Star Partner Program Rating."
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Politics aside, I've started learning more about Elizabeth Warren over the past year. I admire her dedication to excellence, her drive and courage to take on hard problems, her passion for sensibility and selflessness, and finally, her focus on listening to her audience; all great attributes relevant to personal or professional growth!
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
My advice is simple, and I give it to all young women regardless of their career path: learn to write basic code. The App Economy has turned businesses of every size and in every industry into software companies. Code is not just for Tech companies anymore and it's certainly not limited to IT roles in other industries. Your value and self-sufficiency will grow exponentially if you can help your immediate team and the broader company be more efficient and competitive in this new world.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Great question; definitely Ferris Bueller! His creativity, tenacity, persuasive power, and joy for life would make for an awesome day (plus I'd learn some neat dance moves!)
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
As an avid student of the Aurora Borealis, I would head to the Westfjords in Iceland. Seeing an aurora firsthand is at the top of my bucket list, probably because of their mix of magic and majesty (with a little bit of science-nerd thrown in.) When it finally happens, tears will be shed, I am sure!
