How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
This past year, I have been involved with helping our channel partners get hands on with F5 Security products. We have seen our strategy come to life with exciting products, programs and incentives that help them differentiate their offerings in the marketplace with F5. The launch of our Herculon product line provides our partners with a dedicated security products that offers their customers visibility, intelligence, and scaled protection that traditional defenses don't. It has been a very exciting year.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
In the year to come, we will ramp our programs focused on new and existing partners with specialty Cloud practices. The cloud is transforming the way businesses deploy and manage applications and F5 is uniquely positioned to help our partners meet their customers' needs as they move their businesses into cloud and SaaS solutions. F5 products make it possible for partners to improve agility, automate processes, and increase speed to market within their customers in ways traditional IT infrastructure can't touch.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
During the past year, I had the honor of accepting, alongside my team, the CDW Services Partner of the Year award. CDW presented its Partner of the Year Awards during their 14th annual Partner Summit in Las Vegas. The award recognized the hard work done by the F5 CDW Team to develop a F5 services business which was focused on meaningful and profitable growth for both organizations. I was incredibly proud of my team and the partnership they had built.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I consider Charlotte Beers, former Advertising CEO, Chairman, and Undersecretary of State, an incredible female role model. When I read her book "I'd Rather Be in Charge," it had a meaningful impact on me. Charlotte believes that women must forge their own paths to deeper self-belief, because self-esteem allows women to be persuasive and influential at work. This book helped me realize that so many of the roadblocks we create, as women and business people, are self-imposed. Charlotte is an excellent teacher who encourages women to have a deeper knowledge of themselves so that they can push to next level.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
My best advice is to do what makes you happy, but do it exceptionally. I have given this advice many times, and I often remind myself of these words. When you enjoy what you do, you will excel at what you do, and people remember you for this kind of work. This mantra has served me well in my career, and I believe it's important for women - and men - to keep in mind when navigating the workplace.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
This might be the question which truly exposes my inner geek girl! I would be Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia from Star Wars! Who wouldn't want to be a princess who takes on an evil empire - There are so many parallels which can made to current world!
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Oh my, there are so many places I want to go Jaipur, Sydney, Marrakesh, Dalat and Tokyo are just a few cities at the top of my list. I have a serious case of "Wanderlust". I love to travel and explore - seeing new landscapes, experiencing different cultures and trying new foods are some of my most favorite things to do!
