Biography and Background:
I grew up around a family owned food industry business in Youngstown, Ohio that my grandfather started and my dad has grown to an almost $100 million organization. Growing up in this environment helped me learn the value of hard work, and I knew I wanted to be successful completely on my own without anyone's help. After graduating from John Carroll University with a Marketing degree, I took my first job at a copier company in Cleveland, Ohio called Ohio Business Machines. I worked for them for almost twelve years and moved up the ranks from Sales Representative, Selling Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager and, ultimately, Vice President. I moved to Chicago with my husband in March 2013 and I worked for DPOE for almost three years downtown. It was the emphasis on the value of culture, local, go-to-market strategy and best-practices business model that inspired me to join Impact Networking as the Chicago Branch Sales Manager in January of 2016.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
With my commitment to Impact Networking as the Branch Sales Manager of Chicago, my team and I were able to grow our revenue 27.5% from the previous year. My goal was to embrace the Impact Sales Process while helping others fulfill their potential and be promoted from within. As a value added reseller, we focused on and saw a significant growth in our fastest growing divisions - Business Process Automation and Managed IT. I am fortunate to lead a strong team of seasoned sales representatives and some excellent new additions that will be long-standing sales representatives for the company. I make it my mission to accompany my team members on appointments with new and/or current clients so that I can provide guidance, positive feedback, encouragement and support to my team.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
My role as a Sales Manager at Impact Networking in the third largest market in the country presents me and my team with incredible opportunities. My aim is to help my team exceed its targets while growing my sales team by 22% this year. Impact Networking has grown 27% year over year since the company was founded in 1999, and our goal is to exceed over $100 million in revenue this year. We will do so by focusing on our local, go-to-market strategy, our unique business model and our culture.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
In my first year at Impact Networking, I was in the running for the "Manager of the Year" award in 2016. I placed in the top 3 - an amazing feat considering the number of highly talented managers I work with.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I have many women I admire, but Jill Silverstein is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. She absolutely loves life and everyone around her, including her extremely close family. She genuinely cares about others and is very charismatic, driven, passionate, and successful. The other woman I admire is Cici Long. She is an extremely focused, passionate, sophisticated and loyal businesswoman. She has figured out how to be a very successful human being and uses her relationships to partner with many clients, all while balancing her roles as a businesswoman and a wonderful wife and mother.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Just be the best version of who you already are. In order to get ahead, you will need to be passionate and persistent. If you possess these two traits, you are already ahead of the game. Next, you must be a sponge and learn as much as possible so that you feel very confident in your area of expertise and can outwit your competition. Lastly, when you are in front of the client, have a clear message that sets you apart as a qualified expert intent on providing the highest level of attentive service.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
I would love to be Selma Hayek. She has a fire in everything she does. I see no purpose in doing anything if you are not working to be the very best. I love that she has that same trait and passion about anything that she is involved in.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
This is a very difficult question for me, as I have a true passion for travel. I have had the opportunity to travel to over 27 countries and many amazing cities throughout the world, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I have an almost endless list of new places I'd like to visit, but if I had to narrow that list down to only one place, it would probably be Bangkok, Thailand. I have always wanted to go to Thailand to sample the wonderful spicy food and experience the rich, exotic culture.
