Biography and Background:
Mary Catherine Wilson is currently Senior Director of Global Channel Marketing for Dell EMC. She is responsible for investing in and educating partners and distributors through marketing enablement. She served for 8 years as Director of Channel Marketing & Programs for North America at Dell where she was responsible for leading the strategy and delivery of Dell's PartnerDirect programs and marketing in US & Canada. Her focus was on Partner Enablement, Partner Growth, and the evolution of Dell's channel program. She has served in a variety of management roles at Dell including Dell's Community and online knowledge bases, Contact Center, and self- service. She has a passion for listening to Partners and translates Partner feedback and insights into solutions and programs that help enable the growth of their business. CRN has named her in the Power 100 Women of the Channel for the past seven years and she was named as a "Top 30 in their 30's" Channel Executives. She is an experienced business leader with over 22 years' experience in management consulting, software development, contact center strategy and operations, and channel marketing. Prior to Dell she was with Accenture and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Trinity University.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
This past year our partners drove $6B in revenue in North America, a record breaking year for channel at Dell. I built and drove programs that rewarded and helped partners drive pipeline and acquire new customers. With partners, I jointly executed over 1200 programs resulted in 70k+ leads and marketing sourced pipeline. This included an additional $1M in MDF for "Future Ready Demand Generation" that partners jumped at the chance to execute. Partners doubles the number of new opportunities they brought to Dell. Under my leadership we launched a new rebate and MDF tool allowing partner access to sales information. We enabled partners to easily use these new tools through videos on MDF and lead management. My team ssupported marketing needs of 300+ events in distribution and drove awareness and encouraged partners to obtain the appropriate solutions competencies to drive greater growth. As Dell & EMC combined we jointly delivered the best solutions through the best channel program in the industry by listening to partners. I hosted over 1500 partners at Dell World and in 2017 anticipate three times that number.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Being responsible for partner marketing technology, I will enable marketing via our unified partner portal and through a new marketing platform. These tools will house the combined Dell EMC campaign and marketing assets that are available for customization or turnkey marketing. It will provide syndication, email, and social enablement to scale partners' marketing efforts. Marketing services will provide easy access to marketing assistance. I'll introduce a new Dell EMC Marketing Institute that will allow education and thought leadership around digital marketing.

CRN named Mary Catherine in their Power 100 Women of the Channel and she was named in the Top 55 Cloud Channel Executive.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire women with strength of character who stand up & fight for their beliefs. Rosa Parks is known as the mother of civil rights but there were others before her that stood up and showed great courage. Anyone with young women in their lives should read "My Name Is Not Isabella". The story encourages young women to dream big, sharing the stories of many wonderful women in history, while validating everyday women, like mothers and the young girls themselves, who make a strong impact every day.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Always operate with the upmost integrity. Communicate directly and honestly with those around you. Be open to new opportunities. Don't be afraid to build new skills or to fail. Seek out mentors in all types of people both leaders as well as peers. And have fun along the way. Every business is ultimately in the people business, so stay close to your customers.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Princess Leia in Star Wars. Who wouldn't want to fly around in space with a laser gun? You get to see new worlds and meet new people and characters.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I would go a photography safari in Kenya to see all of the beautiful animals and views. If anyone has been, I'd love your travel advice!
