Biography and Background:
Marie Cheung-Ong is Americas Partner Sales Development Manager for HP Inc. In this role, she is responsible for leading and managing channel sales initiatives to drive acquisition for the Personal Systems and Printing businesses, including initiatives to accelerate growth in public sector and SMB. During her 29-year tenure at HP, Marie has held a variety of management positions in marketing, strategic planning, and channel development. Marie has over 20 years of experience in the channel and is passionate about working with partners to drive HP's growth. She has been recognized as one of CRN's Women of the Channel from 2013 to 2016 and was also awarded as "The Power 100: The Most Powerful Women in the Channel" in 2016.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
In the past year, I have a dual role as the Americas Partner Sales Development Manager and the Chief of Staff for our US Channel Chief. Our team continues to drive channel sales growth in strategic areas. We have made great strides in developing and executing partner strategies focused on acquisition and engagement in both Commercial and Consumer Channels. A few highlights: • Defined and executed an overarching U.S. Channel Sales Business Plan to drive profitable growth with partners and retailers • Executed channel sales initiatives to drive partner pipeline generation in SMB, Public Sector and Mobility • Strengthened our engagement with reseller and alliance partners thru Joint Business Planning and Executive Summits
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
I am very energized and proud of the HP's innovative technologies from the HP Spectre (the world's thinnest laptop) to HP EliteBook 800 G4 series (world's most secure and manageable PC, HP PageWide printing technology (a breakthrough print mechanism) to HP Sprocket photo printer (the most fun gift item that my teenage son loves!). My goal remains focused on creating and executing channel initiatives that enable and incent our Partners to drive long-term, profitable growth with all of these - and future HP innovations.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
I have been recognized as one of CRN's Women of the Channel from 2013 to 2016 for four consecutive years and was also awarded as "The Power 100: The Most Powerful Women in the Channel" in 2016.

Ms. Indra Nooyi, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, who is an exceptional leader with great passion for her employees, her family and the environment.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
I like to focus on the 4Cs: - Have a Can-do attitude. "90% is your attitude" and attitude is contagious! - Be Consistent: with your words and actions - Communicate early, communicate often: with your boss, your peers and your customers - Connect: Build your network internally and externally by connecting with your crossed-functional peers, executives, the customers and industry experts. Also, don't forget to connect with your local community and your favorite charity organizations!
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Samantha in "Bewitched." I watched the TV sitcom when I was a kid in Hong Kong. Wouldn't it be fun to cast magic in real life? Love to travel the world with that magic power as well!
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Phuket City, Thailand Why? I just went to Bangkok last month for the first time. It was a fantastic trip and I love Thai's culture, the friendly people and their food! Would love to go visit Thailand again but to a different city like Phuket.
