Biography and Background:
I am the Senior Director for North American Channel Marketing at Dell EMC. In this role, I work hand-in-hand with the Dell EMC North America channel sales leadership team to provide Solution Providers and Distributors with world-class marketing support to increase demand and accelerate revenue pipeline. I manage the Dell EMC MDF program and a team of more than 30 marketing professionals, several marketing agencies, and a marketing portal to engage and enable thousands of Dell EMC channel partners at all program tiers. Prior to the Dell EMC acquisition, I served as the Director of US Field and Partner Marketing for EMC. I joined EMC in 2013 following a 6 years at HP as Senior Manager in various integrated marketing and marketing communications roles.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Following the acquisition of EMC by Dell, I've focused on partner marketing excellence by collaborating with my new peers to quickly merge two top-tier channel marketing and MDF programs, while combining programs and messaging to support and execute the first ever Dell EMC Global Partner Summit and Partner Advisory Boards. Today I manage a team of more than 30 marketing professionals and several marketing agencies who actively support our Solution Providers and Distributors daily to activate marketing campaigns that drive demand and revenue pipeline for Dell EMC products and solutions. The team has also made a strong impact with partners by delivering on our promise of Simple, Predictable and Profitable by simplifying program administration, increasing predictability with longer time horizons, and helping to increase profitability with greater access to MDF funding for eligible partners.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
My goal is to help our partners succeed by delivering on our promise of being Simple, Predictable and Profitable. My focus is in doing this through a lens of marketing excellence in a way that helps partners drive perception, pipeline and performance. Our goal is to help partners optimize and maximize their MDF investment to cement their Dell EMC differentiation while providing essential campaign assets and funding to increase pipeline. We are working to expand the number of partners we provide marketing support to by increasing access to marketing agencies and expanding content on our Partner Portal digital marketing platform.

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
In 2016, I was honored to have been recognized by CRN as one of the 2016 CRN Women of the Channel.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire so many women in business, government, entertainment, and in my local community, but I'd have to say the person that comes to mind now is Michelle Obama. I particularly admire her strength of character during the end of her husband's administration where she was under attack on multiple fronts. Her mantra - 'when we go low we go high' was clearly displayed in her actions to take the high road in the face withering criticism, and to always treat others as they would have wanted to be treated. She personified that golden rule in life.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
My advice to young women who want to begin a career in technology is to be flexible, know your strengths, build strong business and social networks and be inspired. Technology careers today require flexibility and adaptability needed to change with the prevailing technology and rapidly changing business needs. Be open to new opportunities and expect to change roles many times. Focus on skill development from each of these new opportunities. Understand your strengths. Knowing what you do well and why will not only increase your confidence, it will help you seek help when you need it.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
If I could be a movie character for just one day, I'd choose to be Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love . She traveled the world and had incredible experiences of self-discovery.

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I've been to Europe many times but have never had the chance to visit Rome, Italy. I'm interested in history and culture, and Rome tops my bucket list. I like to immerse myself in the deep history and culture of other cities. I particularly like walking the streets and meeting the local people. And, of course, there are monuments, fountains, buildings and art steeped in history that can be found nowhere else in the world: the Coliseum, Vatican, the Trevi Fountain.
