Biography and Background:
Helda Lopes, Vice President, Global Partner Programs & Marketing, is responsible for creating and delivering the Juniper Partner Advantage program which enables, supports and rewards partners for growing their business with Juniper. In this role she also owns the innovative revenue generation and enablement programs that enhance the Juniper Partner experience, helping improve their productivity and increase sales. Over the course of her career at Juniper, Lopes served as Juniper's Sr. Director of Worldwide Partner Marketing, where she launched the Juniper Marketing Concierge, which was recognized by Forrester in 2013 as the year's industry leading co-marketing platform, while most recently serving as VP, APAC Field & Partner Marketing in Singapore for two years where was responsible for the field marketing and enablement strategies using market insights, demand generation, digital marketing and partner co-marketing within the APAC theater. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Lopes worked at Cisco Systems where she held various US and global marketing roles, including establishing marketing relationships with VCE, NetApp and Accenture. Lopes holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Sociology from San Jose State University and resides in Los Gatos, California where she enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling with her husband, Luis and son, Armand.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
During the past year, we've been working to build tighter interconnectedness and interdependencies among our Global Partner Development organization and Juniper Networks field sales, services, training, product development and marketing teams. We have created teams focused on increasing partner productivity through sales enablement, partner training acceleration and partner marketing, which we believe are critical if we are to continue to grow our partners' businesses and our own.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Juniper's Global Partner Development team is built to enable growth with Juniper partners by providing them the tools they need to maximize their productivity, increase customer engagement and maximize their profitability. For the coming year and into the future, we'll to continue to focus on delivering these kinds of programs. Our objective is and to be agile and responsive to successfully address partner - and customer - requirements.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
In 2016, Juniper was awarded the Elite 5-Star Designation Partner Program Guide Winner by CRN. Juniper was also a 2016 CRN Annual Report Card winner. Both awards recognized programs and policies my team developed and help to implement for our partners.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Without a doubt, Sheryl Sandberg. She picked up her life after the unexpected death of her husband. She showed tremendous courage to move on with her children and her career.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Always be looking for the next market trends and proactively work to become specialized in those. That way, your skills are always on the leading edge.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, aspiring author during the civil rights movement in the 1960's, who wrote a book giving African American maids' points of view on the white families for whom they worked and the hardships they experienced on a daily basis. She was bold and fearless telling their stories against a backdrop of prejudice and privilege.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
While it's not a city, I would have to say Antarctica because it's unique and largely still unexplored and unknown to most of the world.
