Biography and Background:
Nancy Gregson is the Senior Director of North America Distribution Sales and Global Sales Operations at Ergotron, previously managing distribution channel marketing for EMEA, and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to Ergotron, she was the Marketing Director at New Bay Media, managing marketing efforts for the audio, systems and video/broadcast groups and managed company events. Before New Bay, she consulted with the National Systems Contractor Association (NSCA) where she helped revitalize its national digital signage showcase and at ActiveLight, whereas Marketing Director she helped advance the digital signage category, launching the industry's first directory still in place today. She has a BA in English Communications from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Washington- Tacoma. Gregson has taught Business Administration to undergraduates at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, was named one of the Top 40 under 40 in the electronics industry by Dealerscope magazine in 2005, and earned her Certified Meeting Professional license in 2010. She was a member of the Board of Directors for Hastings Total LifeCare Center, and VP of Business Development on the Board of the Business Marketing Association of MN. She recently became certified as an RYT200 YOGA Instructor.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
By instituting a direct import program for our distribution partners, Nancy helped put more margin in their pocket as well as reduce damage/returns as the product is leaving our factory and going direct to their distribution warehouse across North America. This has also helped get a regular forecast in place reducing stock outs. In addition, Nancy's internal pricing team moved to a List pricing model to give our resellers more room to collect some margin. With a list and Suggest Sale price model along with a newly formed MAP program, we have not only seen our resellers grow in market share and become more profitable, we have seen our average ASP's rise in the market.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Nancy's goals include 4 hour turn around time for deal registration processing, 99% shipping and forecast accuracy to our distribution partners, to be in the top 3 vendors in profitability and ease of doing business at each distribution partner and to be partner of the year at another distributor.

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
In the past year, Nancy received the Ergotron Founder's Club award for exceeding quota, a Top Contributor Award which was nominated by the Ergotron Territory Sales teams, the Retail Partner of the Year Award at Tech Data Canada, she was ask to join an industry expert panel at the Synnex Canada Inspire Conference, she completed 3 Spartan obstacle races earning her Trifecta, completed 2 half marathons and just recently passed her practical yoga instructor teaching exam which she took because she wanted to offer free yoga to the employees at Ergotron instead of having them pay an outside organization.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Nancy admires Christa McAuliffe, who tragically died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, because she was fearless. She was a teacher who took a risk, stepped out and decided that it didn't matter that she didn't have the training, the years of experience or the know-how to be an Astronaut, that was not going to stop her.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Don't be afraid to speak up and contribute your ideas. Don't be intimidated. You can be and ARE a leader, an influencer, a change agent. In addition, it is never too early to find ways to give back to your community and mentor others personally and professionally. Stick with it as this amazing fast growing incredible industry needs women to lead the future.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Glinda, the good witch of the North, from The Wizard of Oz. Glinda had a kind gentle spirit and her role, her mission, was to help others find their true selves. She was a catalyst to help others believe in themselves. Nancy's mantra is treat everyone with kindness, be true, make the hard right instead of the easy wrong and always remember that it is "because nice matters."

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Nancy would take a mission trip to Africa. It has been something she has been praying about for many years to know where she is being called to either help at an orphanage for AIDS children or a center for adults where she could teach.
