Biography and Background:
Kendra has 19 years of channel sales, marketing, and operations experience in the networking and security industry. Kendra joined Sophos four years ago, to lead its channel development and sales in the Americas. Kendra was soon promoted to Vice President of Global Channels and, today, is focused on elevating Sophos' status as a worldwide market leader in the security industry. Additionally, Kendra is responsible for ensuring that partners across the globe have access to a constant flow of security knowledge from SophosLabs, strategic programs to better reach new and existing customers and the technical and marketing support needed to make succeeding with Sophos simple Kendra is a recognized channel leader, and has been regularly honored CRN's prestigious Channel Chief accolade. This year, Kendra was also selected by CRN as a Top 50 Most Influential Channel Chief. Prior to Sophos, Kendra spent six years at Fortinet as the Vice President of Channel Sales. Kendra's extensive channel sales experience also stems from her roles at security vendors, SonicWALL and WatchGuard. Kendra's success at these companies has provided her the foundation she needs to run a successful channel sales organization at a leading network security company.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Kendra has implemented a number of new programs and tools to help Sophos' channel partners sell more products, technology and end-to-end solutions, and be more profitable with their business. In 2017, Kendra lead the team that implemented a Channel Renewal Assist Program, enhanced the company's Synchronized Security program, added deal registration capabilities to the Sophos app (introduced in 2016), and rolled out a Competitive Hotline to key partners. Kendra and her team also recently launched a new demo portal in which Sophos' partners can review the complete portfolio of Sophos products to their customers quickly and easily.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
As the market evolves, Kendra plans to continue to expand and enhance Sophos' offerings of programs and tools that help partners be even more effective and efficient in selling Sophos security products. Kendra will be rolling out a new Cloud Provider program to help keep the IaaS world channel-friendly - this is important and channel partners appreciate this effort. She also plans on expanding the Sophos Competitive Hotline globally to all Platinum partners and growing Sophos' Technical Evangelist team. This team is a specialized group of engineers who are a pre-sales resource for our partners to use as needed.

CRN Channel Chief - 2017 CRN's Top 50 Most Influential Channel Chief - 2017 Kendra received these awards due to the recognition of her dedication and achievements within global channels by CRN.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Amal Clooney - She's an extremely strong, smart and beautiful woman who doesn't seek the spotlight. Her work on International law in foreign affairs and human rights is very important and impressive.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
You can do and be anything you set your mind out to do! There are so many possibilities within the technology industry - engineering, marketing, sales, operations, finance, etc. I would highly recommend getting experience in different facets of a technology company, so you can leverage and parlay these experiences to grow and then define your career. Sometimes it's best to go broad, and then you can narrow in on your expertise or areas that you enjoy best.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Anna Kendrick - She's talented and beautiful, and she can act and sing. If it's for just one day, I've always wanted to master the Cup song and I would sing it all day! Plus she's young and it would be fun to go back in time for a day.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I would fly first class in Emirates airlines to Dubai. The architecture and the beaches are amazing there! I'm hoping the all-expenses paid would cover the luxury shopping as well!
