Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
There are many great women who have inspired me during the last years, and it's challenging to name just one. I'm part of a Women in IT network in Norway (odanettverk.no) which was founded by women working in Micfosoft in Norway +10 years ago. It's now the largest network in Scandinavia who focus on engaging women to work in IT. Besides regular networking events, they also arrange one Inspirational Day per year which is popular event now. Anne Gretland lead the organization for 10 years with a passion and engagement one can only admire - all done on volunteer basis.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
IT is an industry that is defining the future we live and work in. It's dynamic with continous changes, which give you a wealth of opportunities and develpment areas. Say yes to the challenges you get - I've never regretted saying yes however scary or challenging it might have seemed. Leverage your network, focus on doing a good job, stay curious, develop and challenge yourself to learn new things and get experience in different areas.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
It would be fun, scary, thrilling, and generally exciting to be Beatrix Kiddo also known as The Bride from Kill Bill for a day in real life. She never gives up despite any challenges that she's faced with, and her strive to improve her current situation and get what she want is inspirational.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Rio de Janerio is next on my list of cities I would like to see and experience. The culture seems different from where I live today, and I enjoy experiencing different cultures, foods, and way of living. The city also offer anything from good life at the beach to explore the vibrant city, sightseeing and nature.
