Biography and Background:
Jo Peterson is the VP of Cloud Services for Clarify360, a boutique sourcing and benchmarking consultancy focused on transforming technology into business advantage. Clarify360 sources net new technology footprints as well as optimizes and benchmarks existing environments. Clarify360 provides custom, end-to-end solutions from a portfolio of more than 170 suppliers globally. Clients gain access to leading providers in 3 core areas: Cloud and Data Center Solutions, Domestic and International Next Generation Connectivity Options, and Corporate Collaboration Tools. Prior to joining Clarify360 in 2014 where she created a practice for the firm in the Cloud and Data Center space, Jo spent over 20 years in the technology field with tenure at MCI, Intermedia/Digex Communications, Qwest Communications, now CenturyLink/Savvis in both pre-sales technical and selling roles. Peterson holds an MBA with an E-business concentration as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems She is the founding CoChair of CloudGirls ( and currently serves on the Channel Partners Board as well as the Rackspace Partner Advisory Council. Additionally she is a 2016 CRN Women of the Channel recipient. In her spare time Jo does volunteer work with animal rescue groups.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
In 2016, in order differentiate ourselves I instituted a programmatic marketing practice. This includes presence on key social channels and tracking of those channels. Measurement metrics include revenue, new customers, and sales leads in the pipeline. Additionally I'm monitoring lead conversion, revenue per customer, and customer acquisition cost. As a result, I've begun to alter the product portfolio away from point products to more of a solution based approach.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Clarify360 will continue to evolve our practice as a boutique consultancy focused on the intersection of next gen technology and business solutions. Our belief is that we are a resource to our clients, helping them select smart technology investments which ultimately drive corporate revenue.

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
I admire Janet Schijns, VP Solutions and Sales Channels at Verizon. Janet manages to find time to advocate and mentor young women in tech. She is passionate about helping them succeed. With so many other things on her plate, supporting young women could take a back seat but it doesn't. She embraces giving back. I find that inspiring.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Have a roadmap and while on your journey remember to create an ecosystem of wonderful, inspiring women around you. These are the women who will walk along side you on your journey providing you guidance and encouragement. Give back to younger women in tech. This will nourish your soul.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Dorothy Gale, The Wizard of Oz, would be my choice. She used perseverance and cleverness to navigate the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. All the while, she kept her eye on the prize: Getting Home. This reminds me to remember the long game every day.

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Paris! Its got the finest collection of Impressionist paintings anywhere in the world, amazing shopping, a cafe culture, and Europe's best vintage markets like the Marche aux Prices. Paris has permanent elegance.
