Heidi is a 20+ year industry veteran widely recognized for the breadth and depth of her business, IT and channel knowledge; industry and partner relationships; thought leadership; and strategic planning. She is a prolific writer and blogger and was recognized on International Women's Day 2014 for her body of work on EMC's The Protection Continuum. She has also been published on Forbes.com, Computerworld, BizTech, InfoStor and more. Heidi has held influential partner, consulting and solutions marketing roles at Sungard AS, Dell EMC, Hitachi Data Systems and Enterprise Strategy Group.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
For the past year, I have developed and driven Sungard AS' marketing relationships with our largest channel partners Dell EMC and S/4HANA. In recognition of these efforts, in Q3 2016, I received a Sungard AS A-Star Award from our Channel team for "initiative in developing alliances programs that increase mindshare and relevance with partners and create new leads, opportunities, and pipeline in key focus areas: digital transformation, healthcare, SAP S/4HANA, and ISV.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
For the next 12 months, my goal is to continue to grow our sphere of influence with key partners, including Dell EMC, VMware, and Master Agents by developing targeted messaging and programs that position us as thought leaders in digital transformation, IoT and bimodal IT. I always my eyes set on the future - and the new opportunities/trends we can help drive with our partners.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
As noted above, in Q3, I received a Sungard AS A-Start award for my "initiative in developing alliances programs that increase mindshare and relevance with partners and create new leads, opportunities, and pipeline in key focus areas: digital transformation, healthcare, SAP S/4HANA and ISV. I received this award from our Channel Sales team - nominated by Melissa McCoy, VP, Channel, and Carmen Sorice, SVP Channel.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Melissa McCoy, VP, Channel, Sungard AS For the past two years, I have had the privilege of working daily with Melissa. She is a role model for working women - and particularly those in the Channel. She exemplifies the traits of an exceptional leader. She is collaborative, fair, professional, intelligent, creative, innovative, hard-working, encouraging, and respectful. She is a role model for all - and especially for the generation that follows.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
1. Go for it! 2. Learn, learn, and keep on learning. 3. Don't let your gender define you. 4. Be passionate about what you do. 5. Build a network of peers - and it doesn't have to be a big one.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich - she remained true to her convictions and fought for them in a professional, strong manner.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Athens, Greece - pure beauty - and, oh, the food! Feta, olives... need I say more?
