Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Brene Brown is an inspirational woman of courage. She says "we need to own a million heartbreaking stories of discrimination and prejudice, and make millions of changes, and hold space for a million tough conversations. But, if each one of us owns one story and makes one change and has one honest conversation where we listen more than defend or offer false comfort - we can do this. " Her stance on being the change you want to see in the world has inspired me to own my story and live bravely in this world.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
My advice to all you young women in the channel - network as much as you can, talk to as many people as you can, follow all of the channel blogs and media outlets keep yourself informed and in the loop. Above all, follow your passion, be open to learning and continue to grow and improve on your skills.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
That's easy! I would have to pick Hermoine Granger, always super motivated and successful she is an amazing problem solver, constantly learning and growing and never giving up. Showing young girls that being smart is better than being attractive and throughout the years, since Harry Potter started I think she really empowered young girls to go after their dreams and embrace their courage plus who wouldn't want to be a wizard for a day!
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I would definitely choose Helsinki. It would be a breath-taking experience to curl up in a cozy glass igloo, while high overhead the northern lights danced in the night sky. Also, all of my favorite bands are from Helsinki so as an added bonus, I would make sure to take in a number of live concerts while I was there.
