Channel Sales contributes about 20% of net new revenue to SPS Commerce annually. She is a strategic leader, widely known for her integrity, ability to lead teams, manage relationships and her continued success in exceeding sales expectations. How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Many technology companies and the Partner communities that surround them are trying to move to the Cloud. This includes their on premise applications and the business models tied to them. Cloud strategies drive product, implementation, sales and financial components in their everyday business. Chrissy has helped many partners to move from a heavy upfront fee model to the transition of building a recurring revenue model. This includes strategy on how to compensate sales people, how to think about pricing solutions and creating value with their prospects and customers. Along with this Chrissy has developed the ability to leverage the SPS Commerce network of 65,000 customers to identify a repeatable process of qualifying high value leads to support the Partner Community of 700. This is a very unique business model of reciprocal lead generation which supports the growth of both SPS Commerce and the Ecosystem of Partners.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Continue on our journey of 20% revenue growth while expanding the Ecosystem reach across more Partners and new markets as the Retail Ecosystem continues to change. Retail will change more in the next 5 years than it has in the last 50 years, this means there will be more solutions, more Partners and new challenges that we will be prepared to take on for our Partners on behalf of their prospects and customers.
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Chrissy was named to CRN's Channel Chiefs award in 2015.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Gina Ashe, CEO of ThirdChannel, represents the essence of strong strategic leadership in the technology world specifically focused in the Retail space. Her drive, innovation and ability to execute has brought her great success in her career. I have had the pleasure of knowing Gina as a Channel Partner of SPS Commerce and have enjoyed both working with and watching her drive that business forward. I admire Gina's passion and ability to ask the hard questions while making sure that she is making sound business decisions. Gina is a great example for young women aspiring to be great leaders.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
The only difference between you and everybody else lies in the skills, knowledge, attitude, drive and perseverance that you have. We live in a time where we as women can do what we are passionate about, take the first step. Don't be discouraged with bumps in the road, put your head down and work hard. The most valuable thing you can do is be invaluable to a company where strategy wins every time.
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Pepper Potts, IronMan. Specifically because you watch her character go from invaluable assistant to CEO and how she comes to the realization that she had the abilities to be CEO the entire time she just didn't know that about herself yet. That realization is life changing.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Barbados would be my location. I learned about this place in a book I was reading as a kid and specifically remember that is the moment in time when I became a dreamer. The ability to dream stretches you and your perception of what's possible, it drives me every day. Going there would be the realization of my first dream. I will get there someday, it is on my bucket list.
