Biography and Background:
I have worked at Polycom for 12 years now, and as Director, Global Channel Strategy and Programs for three years. I am an experienced channel leader developing strategic programs to drive stronger partnerships and grow our business. I am responsible for the partner program development and evolution globally. Prior to this role, I was the Global Product Marketing Manager for Services launching and supporting the portfolio of Polycom services and how partners could engage to sell them. Prior to Polycom I spent 12 years a SGI, a High Performance Computer manufacturer, Responsible for implementing, training and managing all in house service sales system tools for lead generation and tracking, CRM, Bid Management and channel partner programmes across EMEA.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
The focus for the past year has been on simplification and making it easier for our channel partners to work with Polycom. I have implemented multiple improvements to our channel process and programs to improve the experience our partners have as they engage to sell our solutions. From removing the demo requirements, and reducing the cost of partnership with Polycom, to improving our certification processes to remove the administrative burden on managing certifications for Distributors, partners and our channel business managers to improving the processes that new prospective partners have to use in order to apply to become a Polycom partner. These improvements required working with cross functional and cross regional teams to agree process changes, develop work flows, define system changes, acquire budget approval, engage IT and subsequently implement and communicate changes. These improvements have been well received within the channel community and resulted in immediate benefits for our partners.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
I continue to work with global teams to define and identify the right program changes to bring to our partner community, from introducing a new referral program, managing the life cycle of our solutions, evolving the content on our partner website, developing a more cohesive onboarding process for new partners or new sales people within an existing partner to evolving our partner program to recognize and reward the broad ecosystem of partners now engaged in the market. A lot still to do!

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Women of the Channel 2016, Recongized for influence in the channel by CRN

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Michelle Obama, I think she has exemplified the role model for women, and shown how a women can influence from the very top and inspire a generation of girls to achieve. She has maximized her opportunities with grace and elegance.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Go for it! Working for a company that has creative geniuses who develop the most amazing technology that we can use to collaborate more successfully is a great experience. I am proud to be involved in bringing to market the solutions of the future. Technology companies offer you the opportunity to work with many different people globally, to build experiences and grow skills. It is a hotbed of learning and sharing, and is the ideal launch pad for the young of today.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Captain Kirk, to be able to explore new frontiers and to experience the wonder of space. To be able to look back at the Earth and realize how lucky we are to have such a beautiful planet, and appreciate what the moon or the Milky way really looks like. To see more closely things that we take for granted.

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Vienna in Austria, I would love to go and see the Spanish Riding school in all its imperial elegance and watch the Lippizaners perform the 'Airs above the ground' whilst listening to the glorious classical music composed by amazing composers.
