Biography and Background:
I graduated from college with a Criminology degree and then made a drastic career change into IT sales some years later. I spent 17 years in IT Infrastructure sales, 8 years as the Director of Business Development for a small VAR and the last 3 years in Channels with Sungard Availability Services. My second year in Channels at Sungard I was promoted to Channel Sales Director now covering Texas , Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Having spent 17 years in direct sales with a VAR I have a good perspective of the world where most of our partners operate. It is important to be able to relate to their challenges and goals to develop a mutually beneficial relationship. Additionally, as the Director of Business Development, I was responsible for evaluating and managing our partner relationships with manufacturers and services providers like the one I represent now. This background has helped me recruit and successfully navigate their interest and appetite for our business relationship. Additionally, you must be able demonstrate trust and reliability to grow a true partnership. I feel that is where I add the most value.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
The Channel is a key factor in the growth strategy for Sungard Availability Services. My goal is to continue to increase the number of qualified opportunities for Sungard business through existing or new channel business partners. This will be accomplished through developing those strategic relationships and nurturing them all along the way.

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
There are many woman I admire. I feel fortunate that I am surrounded by so many friends and co-workers that are simply awesome woman. They are all intelligent, strong and hardworking. Most importantly they are kind and supportive of each other. I am inspired everyday by the woman in my life.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
When I was in my twenties I met a woman while waiting in an Airport. She was classy and had obviously enjoyed some success in her business career. She spoke to me about the opportunity for woman to take control of their financial destiny through sales and specifically in IT. So impressed, I sought out my first position in IT. I have never regretted it. It has provided me a never-ending challenge; forced me to work outside my comfort zone, stretched my technical aptitude, created a platform to provide financial security, and introduced me to exceptional people and places.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Just about any character played by Katherine Hepburn or Meryl Streep. They almost always play strong exciting woman with interesting lives.

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Bangkok Thailand, everything about Southeast Asia fascinates me.
