Biography and Background:
Natalie Tomlin joined Network Associates 19 years ago, and even though the company has gone through name changes (McAfee, Inc) and acquisitions (Intel), Natalie has remained a constant at what is now known as McAfee. She has held roles in sales and channel sales and has been a Channel Director for the past 2 years. She started with the first SaaS sales team and has seen the evolution the security industry has gone through, which has fueled a hunger to always be ready for what is coming next. Her vision and passion have led her to create teams that adapt to the needs of the business namely a hybrid inside channel team 6 years ago that now supports partners in the Americas and a New Routes to Market team that is constantly looking to be ahead of the needs of the business. Natalie is an energetic, results driven executive who cares about the company and about the people, making sure she brings talented people that strive to go above and beyond just as she always does. She is currently working with the System Integrator and Service Providers teams with go-to-market strategy and enablement.

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Always passionate about looking at long term strategy, she worked with her VP (Ken McCray) to assess then help change the 2017 coverage model and ensure better alignment with our partner community. With the security industry constantly changing (consolidations, business models, market trends, etc...), we now have the agility and flexibility to change with it.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
The company's channel business needs to be looking ahead to what the buyer's journey is and make sure our channel is ready for it to stay a market leader. We need to make sure we are going to market with the market makers and that the compensation programs for our reps also reflect that.

What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Worldwide Channel Manager of the Year - Given at President's Club 2016 Channel RD of the year for North America - 2015

Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Oprah Winfrey - A respected business women who went from humble beginnings to billionaire. Now, she spends much of her time as a philanthropist. I love that she takes the quote, "From Those to Whom Much Has Been Given, Much Is Expected" literally.

What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
Never be afraid to ask for what you deserve (I learned the hard way) but at the same time, earn it and always, always have an attitude of gratitude. Those of us in the technology field are extremely fortunate.

If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Definitely Indiana Jones - A well-respected archaeologist, adventurous, No Fear, constantly overcoming challenges, intelligent, and most importantly - loves what he does!

If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
Cusco, Peru to see Machu Picchu would be my first choice. Besides the view from the Andes Mountains, I'm in awe of the Inca's architecture and engineering that went into this man-made wonder and would love to see it in person. Istanbul, Turkey would be another one for the history of course!
