In a brand-new position, recently-rebranded TPx Communications has brought on Kim Cummings as channel manager for the Northwest region. Cummings discussed SD-WAN, cloud, and the lost opportunity for partners that don't take another look at TPx.
TPx, formally known as TelePacific Communications, has been busy proving to the telecom industry -- as well as its loyal partner base -- that it is a national service provider. To that end, TPX has brought on channel veteran Kim Cummings to head up channel efforts in its Northwest region -- a new position for the Los Angeles-based service provider.
Cummings, channel manager for TPX's Northwest region who will work out of Seattle, is no stranger to supporting partners. Prior to her role with TPx, Cummings worked for 15 years in the channel, serving as national channel manager for Frontier Communications and a regional agent channel manager for Windstream prior to that.
Cummings talked to CRN about the importance of SD-WAN, why partners need to get on board with the cloud, and the lost opportunity for partners that don't consider adding TPx to their portfolios. Following are excerpts from the conversation.
