Karina Hoisington, regional sales manager at the fast-growing solution provider, says building relationships with her customers – knowing their children's names and what they enjoy doing, for example -- is key to success.
For years, Karina Hoisington was the only female account manager at several different solution providers. She then became the first female sales manager in 2015 for fast-growing solution provider Sentinel Technologies.
"The one thing that I've never tried to be is a man. I think a lot of times women feel like in this space, that you have to try to act like a man because its predominantly male-run," said Hoisington, regional sales manager for Sentinel Technologies, Kentwood, Mich. "I try to play to my strengths as a woman."
In an interview with Women Of The Channel, Hoisington talks about the lack of female leadership positions in the channel and her advice for women in IT.
