Don’t forget you have a life

A business trip shouldn’t be all business, because neither are you. Even simple things can help. Take a walk outside at a conference lunch break. Shop at local bookstores, cafes, or gift shops. Connect with local friends or family while in town. Ask residents where the best places are to eat. I often buy local postcards/notecards to use as business thank you notes to create personal connections with the folks I’ve worked with there.
