Biography and Background:
Brooks McCorcle is president of AT&T Partner Solutions. She is reinventing how AT&T thinks about distribution and is offering customers more choices in how to build, grow and profit with the AT&T Global Network. She infused the AT&T Foundry™ principles of openness, collaboration, innovation and agility into the culture of her organization. The breadth of her experience combined with her passion and boundless energy make her a respected leader who can inspire teams and deliver results. Serious about AT&T's indirect channels, Brooks created AT&T Partner Solutions in October 2014 by combining the innovative business model she built under AT&T Partner Exchange with the strength and scale of AT&T Wholesale and agent-based ACC Business. Over her 26-year tenure with AT&T and its predecessor companies, Brooks has held positions in Mergers & Acquisitions and Finance and executive positions in Consumer Marketing, Customer Care and Sales. Previously, she led Investor Relations for AT&T, where she directed financial communications and maintained relationships with institutional investors and analysts around the world.
How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
With the vision to create a collaborative go-to-market program, Brooks McCorcle launched AT&T Partner Exchange - a first-of-its-kind resale model - four years ago. Solution providers benefit from the ability to create complete solutions, flexibility in designing offerings, ability to manage the end-user business customer and potential for new recurring revenue. Last year, we expanded our mobility offerings to help solution providers explore connected opportunities with their business customers. We released "A Channel Executive's Guide to Mobility," which helps solution providers better understand how to grow with mobility. We also introduced AT&T Control Center, powered by Cisco Jasper, a cloud-based platform that gives solution providers the foundation to deploy, manage and scale IoT devices. Current Analysis issued an intelligence alert, which stated that "the move further differentiates AT&T's partner program, and allows partners to gain a foothold in the rapidly growing market for IoT solutions." We also continue to focus on scaling the program and driving solution providers' growth through access to innovative technology and access to robust, competitive products in the marketplace.
What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
To maintain our leadership and continue to advance the channel, we're committed to: Scaling our channel programs to help drive mutual growth in the market Launching additional self-service tools and APIs that will help our channel players become more agile Releasing program enhancements and additions our channel needs when they need them, allowing them to solve their customers' challenges with the personal touch only they can provide Serving as a one-stop-shop for integrated solutions, so our solution providers can create the comprehensive solutions their customers need to compete in today's environment Collaborating quickly to help our resellers maximize their success
What honors, awards or commendations have you won over the past year?
Brooks has garnered more than 20 accolades for her innovative channel approach, including Global Telecoms Business' 50 Women to Watch in 2016 and 2015, CRN's 2014, 2015 and 2016 Channel Chiefs: The 50 Most Influential, Gold Stevie award for Female Executive of the Year in 2016, CRN's Women of the Channel Power 100 in 2016, FierceTelecom's Women in Wireline 2015, Dallas Business Journal's 2015 North Texas Women in Technology Award, and The VAR Guy's Top 50 Channel Influencers for 2015.
Outside of your family, please name a woman you admire and why:
Brooks is inspired by Condoleezza Rice. She is an amazing, brilliant, thoughtful, and articulate person, who has experienced many seminal moments in our history first hand. Condoleezza also has great insight about the world including politics, culture and economics. She values communication and the written word. She seems to be a fun and eclectic person, with her interests in golf, football and music. And, she gives back to our country and communities with her passion to bring children out of poverty to reach their fullest potential.
What advice would you give to young women who want to begin careers in technology?
There's a tremendous amount of opportunity for women in the channel. To help as you get started in your career, here are a few tips you can use to champion your path forward: 1) Pick your passion and go for it! 2) Don't play it safe 3) Connect and collaborate with others 4) Learn to listen 5) Keep it simple, and set clear direction 6) Have courage to leap!
If you could be any movie character for one day in real life, who would you be and why?
Mrs. Incredible (Helen Parr aka Elastigirl). Helen is an encouraging force. She is smart and knows where she's going, but is very flexible. She is also tenacious, takes very good care of her family and will stop at nothing to keep them together. And, she still has time to save the world.
If you could travel to a city you've never been to before, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?
I would travel to Florence, Italy to experience the historic art, good wine and to eat at the No. 1 restaurant in the world - Osteria Francescana, located nearby in Modena.
